Today, I went to my local used bookstore to trade in some books. I really wasn't expecting to find anything, especially not in the way of autographs. The owner's have told me before that they do have a few signed books, but they're all mixed in;they don't have a seperate section. So, I traded in some books, got some credit, and got started looking........
And, once again, I was LUCKY!!
'Ball Four Plus Ball Five', signed by the author, Jim Bouton. Bouton was a MLB player in the 60s and 70s, as well as an author of many books
'Bob Hope's Confessions of a Hooker:My Lifelong Love Affair With Golf', signed by the author, Bob Hope. Hope was an actor, comedian and author, a MASSIVE star!! He died in 2003, at the age of 100.
I paid $6.00 each for these, and the Hope book was actually marked down from $8.00!! And actually, my store credit took care of half of it, so I only paid $6.00 for both!! CRAZY!!
I woulda thought used bookstores would check books they get in to see if they're signed, and charge a premium if they are......guess not......
