Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
I think through a Broadway address, I had successes from Craig, Weisz, Stewart and McKellen. I don't think really anyone else has responded to me (though to be fair, I just send out to those I like). For Playbill, I received Waiting For Godot, Glass Menagerie, The Heiress, Grace.
I sent one to James Franco before his little scandal and before people started showing some sort of response. I had hoped because of the scandal he'd sign a few for fans hoping that might redeem the situation (you know he's lost some from it). But you are always a hit a miss anyways.
I sent one to Michael C. Hall so I hope I get a response.
My biggest problem was when I see people in person and they act snobbish to you--or rude. Jake Gyllenhaal refused to sign a photo. He had the stage manager walk out, tell everyone to put photos away, and then Jake came out. I kept mine out with the Playbill on top and my ticket stub to prove I actually saw the play, but he signed the Playbill and even took a pic (which was super nice) but wouldn't sign a photo. I don't get it--you have time to pose for photos, but not sign ONE photo??? I still admire him as an actor, but the pedestal I kept him on has been shortened....

I know $50 is quite a bit. Other than in person, isn't this the only way to get NPH's autograph?

Hes responded VV before. Hes responded via broadway before. Which is why this was such a shock.

The james franco scandal was only a publicity stunt for his new movie palo alto.redgravedisciple wrote:I think through a Broadway address, I had successes from Craig, Weisz, Stewart and McKellen. Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
A few actors, believe it or not, have this funny rule when they're on stage or Broadway... they only sign Playbills after finishing a performance. They're trying to curb the number of dealers who have photos, and if you look at that way, it makes sense. (Or he could've curbed the dealers by saying "If you have photos, I'll do personalizations -- no exceptions.") At least he signed something for you AND did a photo-op with you.redgravedisciple wrote: My biggest problem was when I see people in person and they act snobbish to you--or rude. Some actors only allow one or the other. It ultimately depends on the circumstances, how the actor is feeling (most important), and how their bodyguards/publicists/handlers conduct themselves. Some actors will rack and won't care what they sign, some only do one each, some only do an autograph or photo-op per person, and an infamous few won't give fans the time of day.

Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
It was nice Jake did the photo but I obviously wasn't a dealer :/ not too mention he would sign like mad before that day and after that day--it was just a random, "He's just doing Playbills."
Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
Weird. Some actors are picky about what they sign too.
Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
Isn't someone who sells autographs considered a dealer???

Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
Wow, troll much Whizzy1??? This post is nearly six months old. And no, I'm not a dealer. Selling extra signatures or signatures I no longer desire is not being "a dealer." What? Would you rather I throw them out? I'm not about to get in to arguments with you and have blocked you. Geez, this website is to discuss autographs and you use it as a personal attack simply because I felt a person shouldn't share home addresses.
Re: Hedwig & the angry inch failure
You're lucky. I also sent out for a Waiting For Godot Playbill but unfortunately didn't receive one.redgravedisciple wrote:I think through a Broadway address, I had successes from Craig, Weisz, Stewart and McKellen.
