R.I.P - Stars We Have Lost - R.I.P
Re: R.I.P - Stars We Have Lost - R.I.P
Christopher Reeve
September 25th 1952- October 10th 2004
i know this was a few years ago but I really feel this great actor, great human being and inspiration to us all ought to be remembered. I will never forget hearing the news the morning he died, I couldnt belive it and in a way, I still cant even now, He died just aged just 52 I know he wasnt 20/30 but 52 is still young. He acomplished so much and I like so many others I really beleived that he would walk again. he is my favourite actor.
I got his autograph in the 80's. It was after he appeared in in London in The Aspern Papers at the Royal Haymarket Theatre
I was young and it was my first success so unforatuantely due to poor storage on my part its condition is poor but still a remarkble and rare item. Does anyone know if the age spots on photos can be removed?

While not really a "star" persay, it's now very sad that there is only 1 remaining survivor of the Titanic disaster left: Millvina Dean. Barbara Dainton passed away in England at the age of 96 .

It is very sad news
I just hope Millvina won't get mobbed for autographs now that her name and city of residence has appeared in the papers again

Very true Ian. I found it interesting that in that article link that I posted from msnbc.com, they mentioned that Ms. Dainton shied away from pretty much everything Titanic and even asked that her death announcement being postponed because of it. While I'm very glad that Ms. Dean still signs autographs, like you, I hope that she doesn't end up with a long list of ingeniune requests because of her name being in the press .TheCollector wrote:It is very sad news

Me too
However, as far as I can tell, a lot of her neighbours are very supportive and take care of her mail for her, giving it back to her as she can manage it
I am sure they will protect her, but enevitably her mail volume is sure to rise

It was reported that Major League pitcher Joe Kennedy died of unknown causes this morning.
He was (I believe) 43-61 for his career. Not exactly a Hall of Famer, but a good guy. Pretty decent ttm signer, as well. I was lucky enough to obtain him on two baseball cards a couple years ago.

It was reported on ESPN this morning that Sean Taylor, Safety for the Washington Redskins passed away last night or this morning.
Taylor was only 24 and obviously one of the best defensive players in football.
Apparently, his house was burglarized, and Taylor was shot in the leg. He died as a result of all the blood-loss.
