E-Mail Address Feedback (ala Via Venue)

Unread post by horror66 »

It'd be nice to have some sort of place on here where people could post the successes and failures they've had through e-mails opposed to through the mail. I know there's e-mail addresses in the Feeback but you have to hunt.

I think that this is a really good idea. So if we have this fourm, then people don't have to hunt for the e-mail addresses. This is an exelent idea! :D

That is good idea when you first think about it, but the email addresses would get spam like crazy and the emails would close. So I think you're better off hunting for the emails.

what we could do is put them in anti-spam format

For example:

Before: 1234@yahoo.com

After: 123 @ yahoo.com
or
123ATyahooDOTcom

Guys...

as discussed previously, email addresses are vulnerable to spamming by bots. listing an email address on any site opens it up to be hit by spam. think how annoying it would be if you emailed a celeb but it had been shut down due to constant spamming of the address.

the great email debate goes on...they are fabulous things as you dont have to send anything and thus it doesnt cost you anything. but everyone falls victim to emailing people just for the sake of it because it looks cool.

i admit, i use a lot of email requests in my charity work, but that is different, as ian will no doubt agree, its not a case of writing to people you like, more a case of writing to those who you think will raise money.

anyways, the moral of this, in my opinion is that an email success forum would not be a good idea. it will lead to email addresses and shutting down, being lost to everyone.

if you want an email address HUNT FOR IT. dont expect us to provide it for you.   if you want it badly enough you can find it!!

best
Robin :D

Robin is certainly right, but I also want this forum to have a special E-Mail only topic, when we share our successes... Hunting sometimes is very hard, and boring, and everyone could use a hand of someone who got cool stuff, after sending a message to celeb via mail...
So I would like the moderators and administrators to consider this idea - I think, that noone is so enormous stupid, that he would spam celebrities mailboxes... Everyone would lose in that situation.
Over 2000 successes!
And about a half for the charity too! :)
