I sent a letter, SASE, and card to Tony La Russa on 9/8/2011 and received it back today (10-14-2011) signed with a blue felt tipped marker!! What I found very interesting is that it was post marked in Philadelphia, PA...meaning he signed/sent it from there while playing in the NLDS games!! Great success from one of the great managers in MLB history!!

Great success! I got mine last month (88 Topps A's card) and he's displayed beside my Mark McGwire signed 88 Topps card. It's all part of my Cardinals display to bring them some luck during the post-season. With Marty Marion, Stan Musial, Ozzie Smith, Whitey Herzog, Lonnie Smith, Ray Sadecki and Curt Simmons displayed, maybe it'll work (didn't work for the Yankees, though. I wanted to see those 2 teams go at it. Yankees never beat the Cards in a World Series). So far, so good!
