I would make it a bit longer {up}

Say why you like them and how you became a fan.

I think you need to go into a bit more detail on why you like them, my letters are never shorter than an a4 page.

They're good, but for a rough draft.

I recommend making them a little bit longer. ;-)

They're not terrible though.

When I first started sending out letters, that's how mine were.

I think it's how every newbie makes them.

It's not about being short or long, it's about making the letter personal. Wouldn't you rather have someone read your letter and feel a personal connection, or have them really like the letter for a particular reason as opposed to thinking you copied a template from the internet..?

Hiya Lauren,

You could perhaps try writing without using a template. Whilst everyone develops their own personal writing style, each letter could still be individual and different! :) When you write your letters to those stars you really really admire, try to think what exactly it is that is so amazing/great/and fantastic about them, - Perhaps if it helps you could make a list and jot some notes down before starting - and try to put this across in your letter!

Best of luck to you,

Phoebe :D

This topic has made me think. If it is the case that my letter is too short - how am I supposed to make it stand out? What do I like that other people don't? And why would they want to read about me? :lol:

A few of my recent letters have been a bit longer/detailed, though. Hope I still get responses. :?

This topic is interesting; it's like, I want my letter to stand out, and I want the celeb not to think of it as like " :neutral: huh, another letter," but I don't want to take up and waste so much of their time either because it's so long!

BTW Lauren: O/T, but I love your Beatles avatar! :mrgreen:

I agree with Rachel, you want the celeb to know who you are and that you are a genuine fan. Give a personal experience on how you first saw the celeb and why you enjoy their work. I personally don't use a template, I just write each letter as it own. I write the letter as if I was talking to them directly.
