There are three conventions in Germany:
RingCon - fantasy convention (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, Blood Ties,...)
FedCon - Star Trek & Sci-Fi
BloodyDiaries - Vampire Diaries convention

Just take a look at this site. There are conventions listed from Europe (Germany, UK, Spain, Netherlands) and Brazil.

The best conventions in the UK, without a doubt, are Starfury http://starfury.co.uk

So far this year they have lined up things like a Game of Thrones event with Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage, a Sci Fi event with Eliza Dushku, and a Doctor Who convention with Matt Smith!
