I totally agree with Ian and with scaarr.
I find it extremly rude and disrespectful to send requests without SASE's since the sender is the one who requests something from the addressee.
And if this request is not even worth the return postage to the sender then he/she should better not send anything at all.
Even if a celebrity makes millions per year do you really think he/she is willing to pay the postage for hundreds/thousands of requests that come in every week???
It's not only a point of respect and politeness but you will also increase your chances of getting anything back by enclosing a SASE. And if you don't like to send IRC's, why don't you have a look at eBay for foreign stamps. I get all my foreign stamps very cheap from either my stamp dealer or from eBay.
Best,
Stephan

All you need are the right search terms and of course some knowledge on stamps.TheMailman wrote:I think eBay is useless for foreign stamps. I type it in and all I get is the stamps from 100's of years ago that people collect

Exactly... Why ask who don't need SASEs? If you want someones autograph, you WILL find a way to pay postage. By IRC, or stamps. I have to do pretty much work to get stamps ("order" from the shop owner, wait a few days and go back to get them). But, if you really want to send this person something, you will find a postage solution.scaarr wrote:I dont like this thread, as you should be writing to a celeb because you're a fan. NOT because they pay for return postage :x
Thanks Ian, I've wondered lately what the stamps on my SASEs from UK means (something about from august bla bla, postage rates will be based on width & bla bla)
