Hand-written or typed letters

Which do you prefer to send? My handwriting is quite poor so I like to type letters; I'm always afraid that whoever I write to will think I send out form letters, so I always make it a point to talk specifically about roles I've liked or what I like about the actor.

I do the same as you. I type them only because I feel they look neater. I want to make sure the celebrity will be able to read what I'm saying to them. And just like you I make sure to write specific things about them.

I handwrite ALL my letters. I've gotten so many personal replies back in return (many handwritten) from the celebs thanking me for taking the time to write them. {up} Plus handwritten shows more character than a tryped letter. Personally too, I think celebs agents and managers who handle their mail sort it out in two piles (handwritten & Typed) and the handwritten ones get answered first. {up}

There is never a valid excuse for not handwriting a request. My handwriting is terrible also -- I just make sure I take the time to make my letters readable. Don't rush through the process, take your time. This is not a speed contest. It took a while to get used to it and can be tedious at times, but I really think it makes a difference.

I do hand-write all of my requests as well ;) You have to put more effort when handwriting...Plus I find it more personal (even I know that typed ones can be very personal as well). I simply like to write my letters and when typing something I feel like it's boring...Haha I'm weird.
But I do agree that if your writting doesn't look very nice, it's better to type them. Or maybe also when writing to elder people.

I hand-write all my letters unless there's only an e-mail address for the celebrity and I think hand-written ones are more appreciated than typed. Some celebrities that I 've received have thanked me for taking the time to write them. I even appreciate it myself when I get hand-written letters :D

I used to type all of my letters when I first started writing five or so years ago but in the past couple of years I've handwritten all of my letters. To be honest with you its not really affected my responses either way in my experience, but I like to feel as though I'm making more of an effort by handwriting each individual letter now - even though it takes me well over an hour per letter to pen readable handwriting, either way whether I've typed or handwritten them I always seem to apologise either for typing it because my handwriting is so messy or apologising for my messy handwriting :P

I always hand write, I find it more personal and it shows you took the time to write it out, but I think if you type a letter and explain why you are typing, then its alright. Problem is they don't always read the entire letter and might not see your reason..

My letters are always hand-written, because I'm older than most of the celebrities whose autographs I request and my handwriting looks young.
