I never thought of collecting playbills. It's only recently that I thought to start. A friend of mine that has been collecting for some time was explaining to me that is only way to get those actors that never sign otherwise, like Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington etc. And it's so true! I managed to get Alicia Silverstone and Ethan Hawke that way. I also sent both of them a regular request and neither of them signed my photos, but they both signed my program. {thumb2}

My list is very short, but I am excited about what I have so far. It's too bad the London plays don't send out cast signed programs. I was hoping to get some really hard signers.

^^I have actually never not received a success back from a West End theatre star -- so give it a try (sending individually). Most of the shows over tehre have press secretaries and other things that the shows on B'way don't really bother will. Also, it appears most West End/London stars have personal assistants always with them. Usually reading them their letters.

I have a sort-of-mini-documentary on Elaine Paige and she had a publicist read her a piece of fanmail during her run at the Aldelphi in SUNSET BLVD., that someone misspelled her name and they just tossed it I bet. Haha they were both laughing at it-- but I can only imagine how many people spell things wrong (names I mean) and just get tossed!

I'm going to write a letter very soon requesting a playbill from Coraline. They are coming out June 1 and leaving June 20, so I have a limited time to write to them.

The cast is small, and I love the book and movie, so I'm definately going to request a playbill.

Congrats on the Hair playbills! I have seen it 4x so far and it is incredible. I also stagedoored a couple of times and the cast is so incredibly nice.

Here is a new gem in my collection!

Spring Awakening Tour Cast. I got it TTM at the Boston theatre. Looks like all the main cast has signed except for Henry and Christy. I am super happy to have this one!
