I can tell you with certainty, that less than 6 months ago, Boomer was stamping autographs. I got two of them back and they were exactly the same. (This one does look legit.) I'll be hitting him up soon again, but don't be surprised if you get the 'N Boomer Esiason' facsimile.

With anything you send, remember you risk never getting those items back, but you can also get them back with a stamp/autopen or stamp that just sits in limbo in your collection, or you want to trash.

There are lots of players out there that people speculate stamp/autopen/ghost sign their stuff. Unfortunately you'll never know unless you compare it to other stuff signed IN PERSON by that player or with a secondary item you send. Also, some of the autographs appear to fans as being 'too good to be true' from big stars. If you really want it now, and you think that it could be legit, I say send it out if the memorabilia is expendable. Joe Montana used to sign TTM, but doesn't anymore. Everybody said, oh its a ghost signer. It's his dad who signs. Blah blah blah. No real merit to the argument. It just became an urban legend that spun out of control. Now he wants 100 bucks for an autograph in person. (Just an example. Not trying to fan the flames of the Joe Montana Ghost Signer people out there.)

Yeah, that's the whole reason I decided not to send to Boomer: there were A LOT of autopens.

Lucky for me, my (future) Montana and Steve Young signatures will be legit: Fred Dean is awesome enough to get cards signed for me.

Hall of Famer getting other Hall of Famers and teammates to sign cards? That answers my old question: Do you think celebs or famous people get other celebs autographs?

As far as the boomer one goes, I sent to him about 2 years ago and got an autopen. I sent to him again 6 months ago and got back a legit autograph. I think it all just depends if he's in or not. You just gotta get lucky I guess.

Grats on Warren. He's one of my favorites!

I got former Bears and WLAF Riders/Dragons LB Greg Gilbert today on his Pro Set card. Always pleases me when I get a nice response back from a player who's happy to be remembered!

So, I graduated from Louisiana Tech University yesterday with my Bachelors of Arts in English.

I was sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be lined up and walked out to the floor, when in walks Ryan Moats. Apparently, he didn't get his degree when he played there, but, he did get it yesterday.

Then, I went to Wal-Mart, and on a whim bought a pack of Topps Magic cards from this season. (I think that's what they were called.) For the first time since I've been doing this, I opened the pack to find an autographed card from this season.

I got Chandler Jones (rookie for the Patriots).

Yesterday was a pretty good day....

Sending out to Ray Guy, Jim Everett, and Troy Aikman in the next few.

On a side note, I also sent out 2 non-NFL, Judi Dench (M from James Bond) and Jeremy Renner (Mission Impossible, Avengers, The Bourne Lagacy, The Hurt Locker)
I would be interested to know if you get Jared Allen in the offseason, please let me know if you do.

Just a heads up from an experience in the past. Troy Aikman will sign anything you want for $200 otherwise he will not. I thought that was a bit ridiculous.

Nice find on the Chandler card. I had sent him a mini helmet during training camp and he returned it about a week and a half later signed. Great guy with fans, he responds very well to fan mail.

I have sent out these mini helmets within the last 6 weeks, hopefully something will start rolling in soon:

Peyton Manning c/o home
AJ Green c/o home
Mike Ditka c/o ESPN
Jason McCourty - he tweeted me an address
Ronnie Lott - assistant emailed me an address
Herschel Walker - c/o home
Ben Coates - c/o home

Anybody have any luck with these players?
