Re: NFL TTM Thread
I did not send a SASE it was the c/o Steelers address and he signed his own 8X10, I sent him an index card but he signed the pic instead, much better. Alot of coaches sign their own and without a SASE. This year i've gotten: Steve Spagnuolo & Rex Ryan and obviuosly today I got Tomlin and Schwartz

I wanted to repost something that leebo said earlier, because I think it's important. If you get a success without a SASE, consider yourself very lucky. Whether it be a coach or player, very few will sign without a SASE. It also increases the chance that your request will get lost, or they put the wrong address on the envelope. Granted these guys make a ton of money, but you're the one making the request for an autograph that normally they could get paid for. It's common courtesy to send a SASE with your request. Some players/coaches will add extra postage if they think you may be short, but many don't even do that.
It's not impossible to get someone to sign without a SASE, but be prepared to have a lot of failures if you insist on not including a SASE.

Re: NFL TTM Thread
Thanks so much Shadow!!!! I've been sending SASE's lately and I will from now on. I sent my 4th request to Peyton Manning (this time with a SASE and to the Peyback Foundation instead of c/o Colts. I really want something back from him and I haven't had one active player TTM this season. So hopefully I can have a good second half of the season!shadow316 wrote:I wanted to repost something that leebo said earlier, because I think it's important. NONE OF MY AUTOGRAPHS ARE FOR SALE!!! THEY ARE FOR MY PERSONAL COLLECTION ONLY!!!
Autograph collecting is a hobby of mine. It is not meant to be anything for profit nor beyond my enjoyment. I only send out to people I have deep respect for in their profession/field. I send out to the following but not limited to: professional/college athletes/coaches, actors/actresses from TV shows, artists/authors, voice actors/actresses, and any other random celebrity I love/respect. I try to respect everyone's privacy the best I can.
Feel free to private message me about anything. I'm always willing to help if I can. Just do not demand addresses/advice. Be chill about it and I'll definitely be of some help! Aggression and entitlement gets nothing.
Best advice I can give everyone about autograph collecting through the mail are the 3 P's:
BE POLITE!!!
BE POSITIVE!!!
BE PATIENT!!!

The best we can do with the autograph spam is flag his post as spam. If it continues we need to contact an admin- not a moderator. Don't know if any of these moderators are active at all, but if it happens again, we just need to get one in here.
I didn't realize that a few of you guys are very new to this. A few right off the top pointers that don't help but can hurt if you aren't aware of them:
1) Always try to enclose a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
2) Don't send 18 billion cards or pieces of merch. - Try to limit your requests to 1-3 items.
3) Make sure DOUBLY SURE you spell the player's name right. For example, Haywood Jeffires is pronounced Jeff-frees.
And yes, remember, you are asking these players for a favor and a bit of their time. Always be thankful when you get one, and don't be too disappointed when you don't. Bear in the back of your mind, you risk sending anything out too priceless, you may never see it again.
