Here is a program I got from Jersey Boys in Toronto. I wrote to Jeff Madden and told him how much I enjoyed the show and asked if he would sign a playbill and have some of the main cast sign too. It looks like most the cast has signed it for me! Some are too messy to read, so I am not sure who is on there.

I sent an old Playbill from Sherlock Holmes to Clive Revill and he generously signed it for me:

Last week was an awesome week for me. I received autographs from Hugh Hefner, Larry the Cable Guy, Doris Day, and Tim Conway. :)

Playbill wise, here's my newest success!

I'm still waiting on a few more non-playbill autographs. :) Stamps went up and this hobby is getting expensive, but I love it, lol.

Anyone got any money saving tips? I use 9x12 envelopes for my outer and my SASE. It's $1.05 (used to be $1.00) for the outer and $1.22 (previously $1.17) for the inner SASE for playbills. I do the same for autographs just to be on the safe side even though I know 5x7s and 8x10s weigh significantly less.

Now I'm waiting on the mail. [ugotmail] lol It's now become my favorite time of the day! {love}

(OH! AND ANY IDEA HOW I CAN GET THE D*MN POSTAL WORKERS NOT TO BEND MY ENVELOPES? I write "PLEASE DO NOT BEND" in huge letters across the bottom. I'm starting to think the mail lady bends it more now out of spite. I mean, do what you've gotta do to get it in the box, but give me a break! lol)

Jeepers! $1.05 & $1.22? I use 6x9 envelopes for the SASE and a normal #10 envelope for the outer mailing one. & I put a regular .42 cent stamp on the SASE and also on the outer envelope and have have gotten all mine back. I see no reason to use larger envelopes since the playbills fit perfectly in a 6x9. {thumb2}

As to not getting your envelopes bent, you can always include a stiff peice of cardboard and make a note on it to let the stage manager know to put it back in the SASE to prevent damage. You'll of course need to add another stamp to the SASE and use a 6x9 envelope for the mailing one since it will be heavier now, but you'll definately save some money!

Hope this helps ya!

Yeah, when I sent for Playbills, I would always use a 6x9 envelope. Playbills fit perfectly in 6x9's. I would use one .42 cent stamp for the outer envelope and two .42 cent stamps for the SASE. 9x12 envelopes cost too much to send for a Playbill.

Courtesy of 33 Variations :D

I love this hobby and this definitely made me stop my complaining about postage.

(Thanks for the 6x9 tip guys. I'll have to try that for my playbills. I wish there was some kind of contest at the post office to win free stamps for life haha)

Very nice! I'm currently waiting to hear back form them on my playbill request. {thumb2} Glad those tips will work for you. And I'm sure everyone here wishes that the post office would have a contest, but with the way they are finicially already it's not likely to happen. I'm not sure how old you are, but if your grandparent's or parents ask you what you want for your birthday just tell them "STAMPS!" my grandma asked me and that's what I told her. That way I can write to all my favorite stars and get successes back all year long & it feels like one long birthday! :lol:

Ryan, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in case you have yet to hear:

33 Variations closed (bizarrely) on Thursday night, May 21. Why on a Thursday night? I have no idea...(generally shows close at the end of their week - Sunday, or Saturday evening if no Sunday performances). It was already a limited engagement, but hasn't been selling too well as of late, so it didn't get extended.

Perhaps you should have just written your request to Ms. Fonda herself, as I'm assuming it's her autograph you were after. She seemed very reliable.
