question about printing pictures

Hey, guys. I just joined although I've been lurking and reading around for a little. I have a question about printing pictures to send to be signed. Where do you send your picture/s to be printed? I've seen some very nice quality photos around the boards and I was wondering how they came about. Also, on average, what size picture do you send and how much do these prints run by? This question is not directed towards buying a specific picture off a specific website.
Thanks in advance

Hi Kat,
I usually go to Google & do an 'image search'. You can find some hight quality photos there, or sometimes I just go to google and do a 'wallpaper' search, you just type in the celebs name, for talking sake Avril Lavigne Wallpaper and see what you get.
Depending on where you are based there are probably a few shops where you can take your photos to be printed off. When I have saved all my images onto my PC I either burn them to a CD or move them onto my cameras memory card, then I take the CD or memory card to a shop called Photo Ecosse and they have 3 machines in there from which you can print out photos. I usually go for the 5 x 7 size but that's just me, I know there are loads of sizes to choose from

Then all I have to do is wait 20-30 mins and my photos are done, if I print out roughly 10 photos the cost is roughly £4.00 as far as I remember, could be slightly cheaper, but that will also depend on where you take them to print.
PHEW, I hope I have made some sort of sense to you! If not, sorry lol
Oh, and welcome

Hope that you get a good collection going! {thumb2}

The price depends on where you are located. I can give you the prices for photos in the US (where I get mine at least

) I usually buy 5X7 (inches) or smaller. I have only gotten a few bigger than that.
As for the photos themselves, you can search online, but someitmes the photos end up too small to print. I try to go for images with resolutions around 1000, but can deal with 500+. Another option, which I like to do, is if I like a celebrity in a certain movie, I put the DVD into my computer and get screen captures of the person I want to send to.
Hope this helped

I'm been very pleased their qaulity. 4x6 is only 19 cents each.

I used Wal-Mart once and they were picky about an image I pulled from the Star Wars website. They wouldn't let me buy it. The quality is fine though.

Yeah When I first started printing photos like that, they too put up a mini-fuss, But when I explained to the guy in charge that I was only printing them off to get autographed, He said Sure! No problem!

LOL! Now were all best of friends, and when I go to pick them up they know exactly what photo package is mine before I even tell them what the last name is on the envelope! Talk about service! {thumb2}

Nice! Sounds like a good guy. I was too tired to explain about them when I was at Wal Mart and I found a place where I can get them cheaper and they've never given me a problem. The photo folks know me too, but I'm also an amature photographer so I order quite a bit of photos.

I usually print my own on photo paper. I have an HP Photosmart D7160 that uses 5 different ink colors for better color quality. As for finding pictures the larger the picture and the higher the quality the better the print out. I find most of my pictures at these websites. Hopefully fanmail will let me post the links.

thanks for all the feedback, guys
i think i'll run a mock picture printing at my local walmart and see how the quality and process goes. if not, back to the planning board. i think my cousin may have a photo printer, so maybe i'll looking in using it as well
