With IRCs no longer in use, what to do? *my first post*

Hello, this is my first post on fanmail.biz but not necessarily my first attempt at writing someone for an autograph. I reside in the US. Long ago I wrote Robert Plant, my second attempt at TTM autographs. I sent him a LOR and SAE along with a ten dollar bill and received nothing :? . With that said, I understand that the $10 bill would be useless in the UK or may have gotten stolen so I didn't mind this too much. I wrote Sir George Martin years ago (my first attempt, I did not send a SAE but clearly wrote my address in the LOR) also included some US dollars and he actually wrote me back, even hand wrote the envelope! (rest his soul) I called every post office around and discovered that IRCs are no longer in use. I have read different forum topics and have my mind set on purchasing some international stamps to go from the UK to the US (for the SAE to my actor of choice's convenience) but Royal Mail only accepts GBP! How can I get around this? I would like to use paypal USD if possible to just get some international UK stamps. I am interested in writing Tim Curry (I have the SAE, Photo, and LOR already within the envelope and will purchase an international stamp at my local post office so I can send it). Everywhere I look on Amazon and Ebay just has stamp collector stuff and I'm just stuck now. Any help or links would be appreciated!
I'm so sorry if this was answered elsewhere, I really tried to look as best as I could.

If you want to pay via PayPal then keep searching eBay.

A quick glance at eBay.com found all these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1ST-2ND-CLASS-P ... bDy1PaEiag

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Royal-Mail- ... SwpzdWsGdQ

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Royal-Mail- ... SwFMZWrc1j

http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-x-2ND-Second ... NcyDgRhwCQ

PayPal will handle any currency conversions.

There are no "international stamps" as such within the UK Post Office.

Any stamps can be used as long as the value meets/exceeds the postage price.

I personally recommend 1st/2nd class as they act like US Forever Stamps.

Depending on the weight/thickness/size of your SASE you'll need at least three of either.

These may also help, recent topic with links to more about UK stamps.
