Sending items other than photos

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for sending out items other than photos to celebs to get signed. The specific kind of item I'm mainly wondering about is an action figure. I was thinking about sending a LOR, an 8x10 photo, and an action figure all in a big ol' SASE to David Morrissey (The Governor on The Walking Dead) because he rarely makes convention appearances so I don't think I'll ever get the chance to get him to sign in person. My main worry is that even with a padded envelope and a cardboard backing, the action figure's box will get destroyed or at least fairly beat up during the mailing process, especially since I'd be sending from the U.S. to the U.K.. My second worry is that celebs might refuse to sign things like action figures because of reasons such as a signed action figure is worth more than a signed picture so they might think I'll turn around and sell it and make big bucks off them (I of course have no intention of ever doing this, but the worry is still there). So if any collecting veterans have any helpful suggestions, advice, or comments, please leave me a reply, thanks!

Contact the person's rep before sending and discuss your concerns with them.

If they can't answer you to your satisfaction, ask if they can pass your concerns and contact information along to the person's assistant or provide you with their contact information. Managers will be more likely to assist than agents, but it ultimately depends on the agency. If you can't get help from the rep you contact, contact another rep. Most actors have at least one agent (several have more than that, spread across different agencies), manager, publicist, and legal.

If you're planning on sending VV to a shoot, you can also request to be put in touch with the Unit Publicist.

If you don't get answers to your satisfaction or nobody will put you in touch with someone who can help you, you can decide from there whether it's worth taking the risk.

As always, the cardinal rule: Don't send anything that you can't afford to lose or have damaged in some way.

I've learned the hard way : it's it's really valuable , don't send it......it can be too risky.
