Older Celebrity Blog

Unread post by qwerty333 »

First of all, great site. Very informative.

I'm just about to my own autograph collection. Specifically, though, I'm trying to focus on older celebrities, like Kirk Douglas, Eli Wallach, Carl Reiner etc. Does age seem to have a trend with autograph successes? I wasn't sure if there was any sort of generation gap in willingness to sign autographs. Or does it completely depend on the celebrity?

Additionally, I want to post a blog about my collecting. Is it frowned upon to mention your blog to the celebrity? I know they probably won't bother looking at it, but I wasn't sure if it would influence them at all if they saw that a bunch of other celebrities had already sent me some. I also want my blog to lend some credibility, to show I'm not just getting autographs to sell, or buying ones that are sold, but actually care about interacting with the celebrity.

Finally, a lot of these celebrities have huge careers, where I have seen very little (if any) of their major work. For example, Norman Lloyd. I can't claim to be a fan of his work (since I haven't seen any), but I am certainly inspired by his career. Sort of like how people are very respectful of Charlie Chaplin, even if they have never seen his work. Anyway, I was thinking of just writing a form letter for these celebrities, since I have nothing specific to point out. How bad are form letters? Does it seem to impersonal to celebrities?
