am i doing something wrong ?

i'm really really confused.

i've sent around 12 requests on 26th of June and I got only one reply. I'm affraid I'm doing something wrong. I address the envelope properly, I put inside an IRC, a letter, SAE, sometimes a picture to sign.

It happened to me a couple of months ago, I've sent around 5 requests and I only got 2 replies.

Am I doing something wrong or the waiting time can be so long ??

I'd say just give it more time. I have sent out 96 request since May with only 29 returns. I know it seems like forever, but sometimes it takes a while for them to get to your request and return it.

It's the same with me but I finished worrying. If I don't get it at first time I write to a celebrity again Just be patient and if you rly want to get it try again and again.

It depends on who you are writing to. If you are writing to A listers like Leo Dicaprio, Kate Winslet, Johnny Depp. Or anyone that's big like those folks, your chances of getting anything back are low. If you are writing to people that are not currently 'hot' celebrities, it can still take a long time to get returns. Just be patient, things will come back in the mail. Sometimes it just takes months or even years. {thumb2}

Yeah I have stuff that has taken less than two weeks, but others that have taken over a year. So don't panic, just be patient, plus you have to consider where you sent it to and how long it would take to get there. And if the celeb is doing a shoot or tour or anything else that would cause them to not be there at the moment.

No, you're not doing anything wrong. Sometimes it takes a long time and sometimes you may not get anything back. There was one time when I wrote Jonathan Jackson (during his time on General Hospital) and didn't get a reply for a year and a half and it was a preprint. So it's a waiting game. I know it's hard to wait. I've sent out 34 requests in the last couple of months and only got 1 response so far.

Sweetheart, IT AIN'T YOU. I am a volunteer fundraiser & mailed out over 500 letters. I got approx. 25 RTS, 30 NO LETTERS, 1 personal phone call from an agency saying that their office moved & said their mail was delayed & asked if they could still donate. I personal email saying that they are sending something with hopes that it will get here in time. And about 75 responses with pictures or items.

What happened to the other 400?

I am still getting items that I mailed letters out in April. Like Charlie Pride was mailed April 4th & got him in today. Continue mailing out request letters on a 2 week basis, I know it is costly but do not mail the same request letter for the same person unless 6 months has expired. Some send immediatly & others well.....

I am curretnly now working on my own personal collection & mail out letters every 2 weeks to someone.
