Afraid of not sending enough postage
Hi everyone,
Im new to this and I see that its important to send a SSAE for better replies.
I was thinking of going down to the states from canada to buy some $1 stamps so that the celebs can use it to send it back...
do you think 30grams is enough for a 9x12 envelope and a photo inside?
I'm afraid by the time the celebs answer back my letter and send it back the postage costs would change as well...
please give me some advice
thanks in advance!

Re: Afraid of not sending enough postage
I think 30 grams is correct.
Two days ago I went to the post office to send autograph requests. Each of them were in a 9x12 envelope, with another 9x12 envelope folded inside, a letter, and a photo (4x6 I think), and all of them were 30 grams.

Re: Afraid of not sending enough postage
In the Uk, we pay extra per 10 grams. You must remember also, to add your IRC's
if you are writing outside your own country, to pay for the postage.
A letter as outlined, does weigh 30 grams (1.1 US OZ) If you add 2 IRC's if you where sending to outside, then your letter, will weigh 35 grams (1.2 US Oz)
Anyway, its much more expensive, to send from the UK, as a small letter, would cost about $2.35 to send.

Re: Afraid of not sending enough postage
Here is what I would do. When you come to the U.S. to purchase stamps bring a 9x12 with a picture in it( as if you were receiving it back from a celeb. in the U.S.) and have the U.S. post office weigh it as if you were sending it from the U.S. to your address in Canada. That will give you a fairly good idea how much to put on your sase's. As far as postal price increases unfortunately nobody has control over that and when it happens you just have to hope the celeb. will add the extra postage.

anyone send from Canada to the States?
I want to hear other's input on this.

Re: Afraid of not sending enough postage
I think a $1 is enough, that's what I'm using anyways... A couple of months ago I requested an autograph over email from the US and I received 8x10 picture in a bigger envelope and it had one $0.93 stamp on it
Re: Afraid of not sending enough postage
To send a 9X12 FROM the US TO Canada should be covered with a US $1 stamp.
According to the official site as long as the 9X12 weighs under 1 ounce (I'm too lazy right now to convert it to grams) which is about the weight of one 8X10 should only cost 0.86. The next measurement costs $1.00 USD. Any weight in between the two markers would be $1 as well.
Hope that helped!

I've got my fingers crossed that that's enough postage.
It's so hard to wait for successes in the mail...
and its only been a month since I started sending stuff out.
it's about 0.31kg or 1.093 ounces each envelope with 2 5x7s and a letter inside.
