It's really strange but for some reason he signed the photo 3 times. Any reason for that would be much appreciated.

I think the signature at the end of the inscription was the original one, but since part of it doesn't show up well since it lands on a dark spot he tried signing it on the other side. Since the second signature blends into the textured background, he signed it for the third time at the bottom of the photo where it is more visible. He probably didn't have a silver or gold pen around.

It's cool to see he was nice enough to make sure you got back your picture with a visible autograph.
