Sent a LOR, SAE, £1 and 2 photos. Received a signed photo (1) in my SAE. Although I sent £1, the shipping turned out to cost him £2.45. That was nice of him that he paid the £1.45 himself.

£1.00 should cover the cost of at least 3x 12x8's and a card backed envelope in the UK but of course outside of the UK it will be closer to double, treble the amount.
Congratulations, I'm going to rewrite my letter to Sir Ian and see what happened to my original parcel which I was happy to pay for a tracked service, though it seems to have gone missing.
Not feeling disgruntled since you shouldn't expect a response from anyone, and if you get one it's great but I feel slightly disheartened that he's responded to bundles of mail within days, weeks, months and yet mine seems to have been lost or keeps slipping to the end of the pile.

I've received autographs from the U.K. and they usually use a £1 stamp.
Thanks. Oh, that's bad that it got lost :/
If I were you I'd send a simple letter (not a parcel), so hopefully you'd have success.
