Eileen Whelan is an Irish news anchorwoman and sometimes reporter who often hosts news bulletins on Ireland's RTÉ. Like many of RTÉ's top news staff, she began her career in radio news before joining the TV news division. She often hosts either the Six-One or Nine O' Clock news bulletins. She is a 'relief presenter', who fills in for the regular presenter on certain days.

Sent 1 LOR, SASE and 1 photo to Ms. Whelan on 15/01/14. A week later, on 22/01/14, I received my photo signed and dedicated. The inscription she wrote was terrific.

This reply is a pioneering success, as it is the first photo I had personally edited before printing and sending it. The photo I sent was edited using an editing process known as 'pastellation', where I used a color on the Microsoft Paint colour pad that matched the colour of the background on the photo. Using pastellation, I managed to remove the RTE News sign that was on the top left of the photo. In order to make the picture look more presentable, I inserted a small speech box onto the photo to write the name Eileen Whelan in it.
As I send this, I can now confirm that there are more ground-breaking attempts sent out. Hopefully they will result in success.
