I sent an email to Mitt Romney on the contact me form on his official website, www.mittromney.com sometime in mid July or early August, asking for an autograph. On September 13, I opened a big white envelope to see an autograph from him! At first glance, I thought it was a preprint, but after looking closely, I can tell it isn't, because many reasons, especially because the marker smudges and fades in numerous places. I'm happy to have this, as I hope he becomes the next USA president! *prepares for long, controversial political argument to take place below this thread* :razz:

True it us not a PP, but it is AP

depending on where you live is where they send it out...and it is autopen unfortunately....but if you believe its real.....it is real and don't let anyone tell you different.

What's the difference between a PP and an AP? And I know Mitt sometimes sends out authentics, and sometimes preprints, but I really think this one is authentic because you can see where the marker drags and smudges.

I think it is real, yeah. I mean, Mitt is known to send out a mix of preprints and authentics, and I definitely think this one is an authentic because you can see where the marker drags and smudges.

An autopen is a machine that uses an actual pen to recreate a signature. It means it is not authentic. Many big league politicians use them... Obama even signed a bill using an AP. Look at all the other Romney signatures.... they are all identical, all signed by his AP machine.

Yes so...an autopen machine can write with a marker hence the smudges. Tell tale signs are if the signature is shakey....although newer patterns look pretty good. Also if it is identical to other signed photos. Also at times when the marker leaves the page at the end of a word or name...or if the letters arent connected...there usually is a subtle ink point like the pen was set down hard or removed hard.

I agree with Blackhawks, this is ap. He has fluffed his chance at presidant in my opinion, so you're not missing out on much lol.
