On August 2nd I sent Mr. Muscarello a SASE, LOR and photo of him and Ms. Edith Shane in the famous "Kissing Sailor" picture taken in Times Square on VJ Day, 1945.

Today, August 9th 2012, I received my photo back signed and personalized along with another photo personalized to my family and a few magazine clippings talking about the famous couple and picture.

Very excited about this success!

I read online that Mr. Muscarello has a birthmark on his forearm and you can see that the sailor in the picture also has a birthmark in that spot, so I do believe the man in the photo is Mr. Muscarello. But yes, it's always worth a shot to send to both, I guess you can never be 100% positive!!

It has never been proven 100% who it really was. There are arguments for all sides.
