Because I didn't want to be rude saying that he is only notable for one film.... That was his Career. Career= Bambi

Well he didn't have to be rude about it, either. Jeez.

He's still right. "[g]reat compilation of works..."? Come on.
That actually sounds kind of "form letter"'ish to me.
There's also a chance that he read it sarcastically.

Well, I have to say, I don't really feel sorry for you. It was actually "rude" to write a letter to someone without being certain of what they are notable for. Autograph collectors do this all of the time just trying do get a quick autograph, or in your case multiple autographs without giving a thought to the fact that the people we are writing to are human beings and they DO sometimes read our letters. I think his comment was justifiable, and you should at least "do your homework" before you write to someone. He is known for Bambi, nothing else really, so your fan letters should reflect this. I used to collect blindly when I first started, but I never write to anyone unless I am fully aware of their works and only if I am actually a fan. Sorry if this upsets you, but someone had to say it.

Also, I just want to point out, unless you count an episode of The View and a documentary about the Making of Bambi, he was only in ONE film. I don't think he'd mind being told that, as I'm sure he already knows.

The OP did know that he was only notable for Bambi. If you look a few posts up, he said "Because I didn't want to be rude saying that he is only notable for one film.... That was his Career. Career= Bambi"
But, I don't think it would have been rude to acknowledge that he only worked on Bambi. Obviously Peter knows this. You are still a fan, and I am sure he appreciates it.
