On July 12th i ordered Robert Englunds book from his website http://www.robertenglund.com/, i believe i paid $35 for it & today, July 21st i received it signed, personalized, with a Freddy quote & with a Freddy sketch, it is a phenomenal book, i have already read the whole thing, i recommend it to anybody that is a fan of his, he is such a nice guy. He goes into detail about his life, how hard it was to work on the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, how he almost did not return for the sequels after #2, how he got his start, & some crazy fan stories as well, & talks a little about fanmail!!. pic is below, this is one of my favorite successes i have gotten.

I like how he wrote every town has a elm street because the next street down from me is a elm street lol I always wished i lived on elm street lol Robert signed my photos for me for free afew years ago but it would have been awesome if i lived on elm street lol

Lol i used to live in a couple different places that had a Elm St. ya, i figured i would pay, no offense but if a celeb requests a fee to sign, which Robert does, i think he should toss everyones request who doesnt send the said fee, it shows who his real fans are, but he signs for free sometimes which i think he should stop doing, ive sent to him twice now paying for everything

I send him 2 photos in January and he signed everything for me, and for free. I think that such actors, that don`t want money for their signature are realy great, they get a lot of money from us when we go to the movies, buy their dvd or books, so it would be bad if we had to pay for their signature also!

Karolinapoland i get what you are saying & i understand, what i dont get is why Robert signs for free as well requests money, he should just do one or the other

Thanks for sharing your sucess and telling about the book. It sounds very interesting, but I won't be buying it. I have so many books I want to read that I won't get around to it. I am a fan to some degree, but I haven't made it a point to study his career in depth. I did receive a small autographed postcard from him not too long ago.

I see your point about about Mr. Englund's signing practices. I don't have a strong view on it either way. Amazon sells the book new for $10-something. I guess one could buy it and then send it to him and save a little... if that's what they wanted.

I've seen a few in person sucesses from him at conferences. I assume that most actors charge fees at such events. Do you know if that's true for him or not?

Your welcome!, & thanks spark delite, if u buy it off amazon for 10 something plus shipping, then you have to send it to him along with a SASE, being that is a hardcover book, it will cost at least 5 to send it there, plus 5 back, it costed Robert $7 to shipit to me, then the $10 fee so i was looking to break even if i bought 2nd hand, i said why not & just bought it directly from him.
about the convention thing, yes from what i know he charges about $25, but thats becuz he is pretty famous, thats nothin for a famous celeb, Mark Hamill & William Shatner both charge $125+, & i heard they can be jerks, Shatner is always on the top of the rude lists for celebs, even other celebrities rip on him, the convention has to pay for their flight, hotel & appearence fee so they have to make that money back, but on the plus side, ive heard Robert is one of the nicest people to meet!!
