A few weeks ago I sent a Packers license plate, SASE, LOR, $30 and a black Sharpie to Bart Starr. He was kind enough to not only autograph and personalize my license plate, but he also put four inscriptions!!! He inscribed it with "MVP 1966," "SB I, II Champs," "MVP SB I, II" & "HoF '77" for me. What a great signer! I sent it to 2647 Rocky Ridge Ln Birmingham, AL 35216.

Hi JayHo7284 :)

Thank you for your feedback {up}

Would you have a scan of the envelope you received please?
If so, you are in the run for the $10 gift certificate.

A true success would have been if you didn't have to buy the autograph. If I go on ebay and buy I don't consider it a success neither do I consider it a success if you buy it from the signer. Because at the end of the day you are still just buying it, the same as any one else who sends the payment!!!

Nice pick-up JayHo-

George2607- I tend to agree with you when it comes to paying for an autograph and whether it is a "success" or not. However, these days the price for an autograph is usually unreasonably high. I think an autograph from an NFL HOFer with 4 inscriptions would cost a lot more than $30 at an autograph show. Yes, he paid for it, but I think he got it at a great price.

Hi wak3land-

I don't know Mr. Starr's rates if you mail something to him to sign. I'll do a little research and see what I come up with.

To give you an idea of the prices for an autograph show, look no furthur than the upcoming show at the N.J. Convention Center, June 10-12.

Mr. Starr's rates START at $140 and an inscription ticket costs an additional $60. In addition, there is a MAX of 2 inscriptions per item.

JayHo got the autograph and FOUR inscriptions for $30.

Meanwhile at the same show, the following HOFers will sign ANY item for no more than $25.
Art Donovan
Lenny Moore
Marv Levy
Charley Taylor

I think most people also know that all of the money raised from TTM signings goes to charity, the Rawhide Boys Ranch. When he was MVP of the first superbowl, he was awarded a new corvette. The car was auctioned off and all of the money was used to help start Rawhide, a transitional/recovery home for serious juvenile offenders. He has always been a generous, classy guy.

I just told him about how I first became a fan of his and the Packers (watching a rerun of the Ice Bowl with my grandpa), and just how much I admire him and what he's done with his foundation and all of his charity work. It was very sincere and hand-written.
