Jim Davis: No longer signing fan mail

Post by jfitzgerald »

On 4/10/20, I mailed an item to the address below. On 4/20/20, I received it back unsigned. An originally signed 8x10 photo on nice stock paper was included. Unfortunately, there was also a note enclosed which stated that JIM DAVIS IS NO LONGER SIGNING FAN MAIL.

This is no surprise.

I knew this was going to happen after I read that he sold all rights and trademarks and everything associated with garfield.

The new owners (viacom) are the ones who probably are behind this as they told him not to sign anything also if they can not make any money from it I doubt they would let it happen.

Is that an authentic autograph? He’s been sending pre-signed (authentic) photos for years now.

It's an original signature. The marker that was used left a speck near the "J" while being signed.
