There may be video of him opening his mail, holding his mail, holding the items people send him etc. etc. etc. but there will never be a video of him signing the signature obtained ttm because it's NOT him.

Here's a video of him doing a sketch...A SKETCH. He took his time and yet gives the same messy IP signature. If doing the special drawing why not give the neat, beautiful, womanly-signed signature that is obtained ttm? Answer, because it's someone else giving the neat, beautiful, womanly ttm signatures.

Some people don't have the expert eye that you and I have. They shall remain ignorant and believe the signatures are authentic.

Wasn't there someone of Dick Van Dyke's band that came on this site just to tell us he really signs his TTM and he shows the band pictures and letters he has received and there's always a stack of fan mail on his desk?

I would like to just state two things. #1 - It's stupid that people are met with such hostility EVERY SINGLE time they post about their Dick Van Dyke success. The fact is that no one knows for sure if they're authentic or not, so why not let people enjoy their success?

#2 - A "beautiful, womanly" signature? Really? Last time I checked, the ability or inability to write proper cursive did not dictate whether you are male or female. My sister has horrendous handwriting. She always has ever since the time she was little, and it didn't matter how much she practiced, it never got 'prettier'. On the other hand, my father and grandfather have beautiful handwriting. It's perfect, flowing, legible cursive. I'm sure that this has to do mostly with the fact that proper handwriting is not taught in schools today. Apparently it's not needed or something (insert sarcasm here), but that is another argument.

My point is this: assuming that Mr. Van Dyke's signatures are a secretary just because it's pretty, legible cursive is a really naive and ignorant thought. Alright, I'm jumping off my soap box now. ;-)
Most desired: Johnny Depp, Chris Pine.

**I'm also trying to obtain signatures from the leads for Lord of the Rings, the new Star Trek Enterprise crew, Battlestar Galactica & The Avengers! If anyone has any address that can lead me to successes, it would be fantastic if you passed them on!!** :D

Why does all of this happen on every DVD post?

Exactly what i was about to say. Great post. Unfortunately no one will listen and they will just ignore this post and keep saying it's a sec even though it's authentic.

I concur. I have no idea if DVD's signatures are real or not, but I can say for certain that I have autographs from many male celebrities that were signed right in front of me. Not only are they legible, but are distinctive and beautiful in their own right.

1) handwriting is not the point. the point is the ttm signature and the IP signature signed with the drawing (meaning he had plenty of time) do not match
2) reason DVD is the one being called out is because he's one of the last "great ttm signers" that hasn't been fully outed as secretarial
3) reason we do it is because we don't want people wasting their time, stamps, envelopes, letterheads, typing ink etc...on something that isn't real

Just as a matter of interest - this reminds me of the Jerry Lewis debate. In my opinion cjhanson is usually correct - DVD's assumed real sig. has no spacing between the words and is one continuous flow.
