Whats it worth? Framed Johnny depp autograph

Unread post by UKBrad »

Hi, can anyone tell me roughly what this is worth. This is a genuine Johnny Depp autograph purchased from MSPG Autographs for £85 at a movie trade fair (Collectormania) back in - I think - 2005. I have posted pictures of the item as a whole and of the autograph itself. Many thanks

An autograph Depp can go anywhere in the neighborhood of $75 to $300, depending on the signature ( I have one in my collection that's signed every letter ), the photo it was signed on ( an image from Pirates would tend to go higher due to the popularity ) and the "presentation" ( something matted and framed would be more costly than just a simple 8X10 ). Also something like an 11X14 or a poster signed would also be higher in price since larger items tend to be harder to get signed.

Depends on various factors but the biggest factor is authenticity. I go to conventions and have posters signed a few times a year. I have tried selling things on Ebay that I personally got signed in front of me at a con for a lower price than expected. I didnt have a photo to go along with the signed poster when I first started selling. In this day and age much more is fake than is authentic in the world of autographs.

I now take a picture of the celeb with the actual signed item visible to match for location and ensure its that same as the one being sold. I also take short videos of the celeb signing and give that to the buyer for piece of mind.

Long story short I make tons more off the ones that have photos or videos with them for authenticity.

I dont care how real a signature looks I just cant buy without thinking its a fake. I get off a few Ebayers that sell ttm photos but thats it. If u met the celeb post a convincing photo or I am almost positive no matter how it looks that its fake.
