It looks different than some of the current sigs I have seen. But, I got this autograph when the Smallville was in its first or second season. And before he got very popular. Just wondering what people think.

Unfortunately I don't think that is authentic. It's very hard, almost impossible to find an authentic Tom Welling, even when the series was in it's first season.
Here's an example of an authentic Tom Welling autograph. It was signed for charity.

I am a big Smallville/Superman fan and I've only ever seen 5 authentic Tom Welling signatures. And they all looked similar to my example.
3 of those examples were through charities organized by the cast. (ea John Glover alzheimer charity).
One was ttm in the first season, and the last one was in person. I wish he would have done a signing through inkworks, like the rest of the cast.

Thanks Guilder. Its weird..I have seen 2 versions of his sig. The one you showed and older ones that weren't so squished.

I had a friend send me a copy of his auto with Rosenbaum. He got it somewhere. I was using it to compare.

It's a bit squished because his full sig probably didn't fit on the key. ;)
It does show how he forms the letters in Tom, which is pretty distinct, he doesn't really form the O, but just puts a line which he then crosses with the M, on the other examples I've seen that part of his sig was always the same.

Little harder to tell, but still same characteristics.

Just for fun. There will be an article about Tom Welling in an upcoming issue of autograph magazine, hopefully it will give some clarity on his autograph and why he barely signs.

Thanks for the info. I will look for that. I have seen the above pic in person and it looks more like the legit sig.

Their seems to be a second version of Wellings sig. I found this pic at J&J Collectibles. They are a UACC member. So I would assume its legit. I have seen them at some conventions and the sigs they sell seem to be legit.

Here is the link to the Welling sig they are selling:

Being a uacc member doesn't mean much. Anyone can become one for a small fee. I've seen one or two for sale over the years that I believe to be authentic with uacc dealers, and both were with autograph world. At conventions I have also seen that version, and since that version is so common they probably think it's real. I don't think it is though.

I would have to say not authentic. Both of their signatures look off.

Although it resembles his authentic autograph, looking at some of the other 'forgeries' they are selling (ea. Chris Pine, Robert Downey jr.) I would have to say fake.
