I handwrite, and have done since I started collecting. I just think it is so much more personal, and have received quite a few lovely notes in repsonse. I've even had two celebrities compliment my handwriting! (Roger Lloyd Pack and Dominic Cooper) It takes quite a lot longer especially as I tend to write longer letters and I'm left handed, (so I have to slow down so I don't smudge my writing!) but I think it's completely worth it, I don't mind spending the extra time at all.

Good luck with all your letters!

Phoebe :D

Lately, I've been older than the people I'm writing to, so I have to hand-write my letter so I appear younger ;) I'm a total handwriting perfectionist so I usually write the letter at least four times. Thankfully I have a photographic memory for spelling.

And I really think it's impersonal if you type it; it looks like it's coming off an assembly line and you just change the name and address for each person. I'm now picturing an autograph 'letter of request' pile created by mailmerge in Microsoft Word.

I've been hand writing my letters, and I started putting note cards in that say personal collection of and then I sign my name. Every person I've gotten keeps the note card, kinda weird.

I've always handwritten my letters as I feel like it's much more personal, the only time I haven't is if I'm writing to someone who has pre-signed pics at their agency (who will most likely not read the letter) :)
