General David Petraeus In Person

General David Petraeus is going to be speaking here in Ottawa in a few days and I was hoping to try to snag an autograph. Has anyone ever seen him in person or met him. I am just wondering how much security travels with him and whether it is possible to even get close.

I dunno about seeing him in person but I did write off to him at CENTCOM about a month ago

I heard he's a nice guy, so I don't think he'd turn you down. The problem is getting close enough to ask for an autograph. High ranking military officials like him travel with a Secret Service detail and a DOD security entourage also.

Depending on the type of event, you may be able to get a lot closer than you think. Also where the event is taking place, as well as how many people are going to be there. It is hard to determine with out some of that information. Good luck either way, that would be a great autograph to have.
