new to autograph collecting help need tips

Im new to autograph collecting and i sent a letter to steven gerrard and recieved an signed photo back. I was pleased with this but would like it if some people answered sone questions for me if they have had experience.

Do people get more success out of sending emails for autographs or sending letters for autographs. What autographs have come in a good space of time and what good successes have people had? could people please write back i would love too hear from you, thanks samantha

It is always best to send TTM so you can help out with the postage costs. Always remember to include a SASE with your requests, or a SAE with IRC's when sending abroad, to ensure you have the best chance at getting a response.
Don't write to people just because you know you will get a fast autograph, just send to those who you actually want!

Members here are usually pretty reluctant to list the names of good signers in case the addresses get spammed by people wanting a fast autograph. It's also really hard to say whether Email or snail mail is better as it all depends on who you're writing to. I've had awesome successes with both

I think the best advice I can give you right now is to use the database to look up people you would like to write to, and then see which address works best for that person. Sometimes it's an email address and sometimes it's a snail mail address. It's different for every celebrity {thumb2}

I'm new too autograph collecting as well, and have written to a couple of celebs, 2 through emails and 1 through regular mail. I still have to write to more celebs, but so far I've found emails are the easiest way. so far anyways. lol. good luck getting autographs!
