Successes this week: Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney, also Gaston Glock; he is not political, but could be considered quasi-military.

Tomorrow I'm sending out another one to James Baker III, former Secretary of State, chairman of the Iraq Study Group. I got a double success from him back in September when he signed a book and a dollar bill for me. The dollar was from his term as Sec. Treasury.

Hi Guys!

I went to Goodwill today and had not one, but two great finds! I found a book signed by Donald Trump! (another post) and one signed by Governor/Senator Bob Graham. The book only cost me $1.99!!! I'm pretty sure it's real- but will take your thoughts.

I've been trying to get his signature for awhile now- so I'm really excited about this one!

Thanks-
GABOR

I love Goodwill and other thrift stores. I've got books signed by Al Gore, 4 Jimmy Caters, 2 Rosalynn Carters, 3 Colin Powells, 2 Madaline Albrights, a few astronauts, and others.

I am working on getting all the living Secretaries of State, Treasury, and Defense. I send books mostly, but not all of them have written anything so I try to find a sustitute. 8x10s just don't do much for me, plus I figure it's a whole lot easier for them to send a preprint if that's all I ask for. For the Sec Treas I send dollar bills; I've got two of those back so far. Also I rarely write to people currently in office.

I love that dollar bill idea. I was thinking of starting to add political figures to my collection but didnt know what to send. Thanks for the idea.

I am interested in starting to send to political figures and am looking for a little advice...

I like to have consistency with my autographs (all on the same format card or photo or something like that, i think they look better when displayed) I was just wondering what everyone else sends for signatures? also price and size are a big issue with me. what I send has to be cheap, and small enough so I can use standard enveloped. someone earlier mentioned that they use dollar bills for some people, and i loved that idea, but thought it may not be appropriate for everyone.

also, what do you say in your letters? I am used to sending to hockey/baseball players, and people involved with Star Wars, but just wondering what you say in letters to political figures.

thanks for any advice you can give me.
