dose this matter in a letter?

I'm a noob I dont have any autographs and ive never send a letter asking for one. The only autograph in the world I care to try to get is Jeri Ryan. My question is dose it matter if I use a computer to type my letter? Stupid question, but like i said I'm a noob I might be missing something lol. Thank you

No, it doesn't really matter. A couple words of advice:

1) Make sure your letter is unique and atleast 3/4s a page if you're typing! If it's simply "Can I have your autograph" type thing they might think you send that letter to everyone!

2) Leave room at the bottom for your signature & sign it!

And use the searchbar at the top all pages next time...a lot of your questions have been asked before & answered!

Handwite ALL your letters! I know this may sound hard & overwhelming, but believe me, my best successes have come from handwritten letters. Plus celebs favor those over typed ones (due to many using form letters) and you may even get a handwritten letter back, such as my Martin Sheen example. another thing to mention, is that too long of a letter (8 legal pages) is way too much for a celeb to possibly read. but too short a letter (top half of a legal paper) is kinda worthless, as their is not much to wite in that small of an area. I like to keep my letters to one peice of legal size paper (8x11) and use both sides. but if you prefer to use 2 peices and write on only one side of each, that okay. just remember the more stuff you put in the envelope, the more postage it will cost.

I disagree. If this person's handwriting is bad, then they're much better off sending a typed letter. A scrawled letter that is barely readable is far more insulting than one that's neatly typed out. When you write it, just mention that your handwriting isn't great so you thought a typed letter would be easier to read, you'll be fine. I know a lot of people who prefer to type their letters and they have had many personal responses in return. It's all about the sincerity of the letter you send, rather than whether it was typed or handwritten. {thumb2}

I always handwrite mine, I think it makes it more personal. But that's just me.

I have both handwritten and typed letters to celebs and I have gotten nice replies with both!
I prefer to send handwritten letters nowadays, but I agree that if your handwriting is terrible you should type them
I personally think that two sides (or two pieces) of a A4 sized paper is a bit long for a fanletter, since I usually keep it down to a one-sided-A4.
But it really depends on the celebs because I've also written longer letters to some people.

I guess the writing part of this hobby is also the most personal: some people prefer typed, so handwritten, some people prefer longer letters, some short.

Just remember that the content of the letter is more important than whether it is handwritten or long or not.

{thumb2} I only know this as I had a pen pal when I was a kid and his handwriting looked like 100 spiders crawling across the paper! We email now and it's soooo much better

I would suggest handwriting your letter if you have neat-ish handwriting. :] To me, I think it shows its a little bit more personal.. I don't know why. xD But if you have bad handwriting, you are definitely better off typing it. :] I know I hate when I can't make out someone else's writing, and I'd bet a celebrity wouldn't like that either. Plus it's quicker and easier, and you'll know you don't have any spelling errors. Good luck!

i always typwrite on the computer BUT i always signes the letter and sometimes also write down few lines if its my favorite band/actor i wanna write too i have bad handwrite i think..but if i take time it will be good but i dont have the time i work and such,and i have much contact with bands on internet so its a lot easier to me then
