How exactly would I send a book and SASE?

I'm planning on sending "Indiana Jones and the Seven Veils" to author Rob MacGregor to sign. How exactly would I do this?

Bubble mailers. You'll need two, one slighty larger than the other. {up} then just address the smaller one like you would any normal SASE. Just make sure the book can still fit in the smaller on. You'll probably have to take it to the post office and have them weight first to see how much postage will be.

Thanks a lot for the help, Ryan! He emailed me an address to use (his home address I think) and then I realized I didn't even know how to mail a book! Thanks again and I'll be sending it very soon!

You might want to wrap some card around the book to stiffen the package before putting it into a bubble mailer - I used to be an online bookseller and from experience know how easy it is for a book to get knocked about in the mail in a bubble mailer. It doesn't need to be really heavy, thick card, just enough to give a bit of strength to edges and corners.

Unfortunately I saw quite a few paperbacks coming back where the spine had been practically snapped in half through careless handling. Even if it adds slightly to the cost of sending I would strongly recommend doing it.

Depending on the size and weight of the book, I'd consider using a cardboard box. Bubble mailers don't really offer much protection. If it is small enough that a bubble mailer can be used safely, I don't think there's any reason the sending envelope needs to be a bubble mailer too. You can just used a plain manila envelope for that IMO.

That would indeed make more sense than sending two bubble mailers, certainly.
