celebrities that sign authentically through the mail
What kind of celebrities sign authentically through the mail? Probably soap opera stars and what not right? I mean it really sucks, because I have gotten so many wonderful responses and it's sad to think that most of them are secreterials. I mean some celebrities I've received don't even LOOK secreterial to me. I mean I am really, really angry and I'm starting to think if I should throw most of my autographs into the trash

Re: celebrities that sign authentically through the mail
If you think of the thousands of requests and letters some of these celebrities get every week by regular mail and e-mail it would be physically impossible to respond to each one. Rather than leave the majority of them unanswered, they send pre-printed photos, stamped signatures or secretarial photos.
Popularity and timing has a lot to do with it, rising stars will be more likely to personalize and send authentic photos back to please their fans and increase their fan base. People like George Clooney don't really need to worry about their fan base and get oodles of requests, so rather than appear rude they at least send something.
You can try to look through the forums to see what people have had success with, but then again someone who sent an authentic personalized photo last year might not be doing the same thing this year. Writing to celebrities is a great way to show your support and get some momentos, but the surest way to obtain authentic autographs is from in person encounters.
Best,
Mike

The ones TTM that I think tend to be authentic are actors/actresses that are retired and are no longer acting in the business ( examples: Tony Curtis, Kirk Douglas ( though he'll only sign his books ) Maureen O'Hara etc ) and celebs that have their own websites that sell signed photos.
People that are currently acting chances are they are either secretarial/or signed by a relative like a John Travolta, Clint Eastwood, or Robin Williams. They can also be autopen's or pre-prints like a Johnny Depp.

All the autographs i have received have been authentic,i don't know what celebrities you are talking about but i always get authentic autographs back and i know this because i always compare them to in person successes or a few others ways i have to know if they are the real deal.I don't write to mega stars like johnny depp or george clooney but i have got back some autographs from pretty big stars like britney spears and mary elizabeth winstead & mia kirshner & mena suvari and lots more but i usually send Via venue so your chances of getting authentic autographs is much higher. The only way you will get the autograph of most bigger stars is Via venue they just get too much mail to their agents and managers to respond to it all.

I've also gotten authentic autographs from some Soap Opera stars as well, and speak of Robin Williams? I got a picture from him and it doesn't look like a secreterial to me, so ha ha

It just makes me mad because I feel like I should throw the autographs I've got in the trash:( I worked so hard in getting my autographs, and NOW I feel like they are worth nothing. I mean I am sure there are celebrities out there that WILL sign through the mail. For example I was lucky enough to obtain an autographed photo from robert downey jr, and he even put a peace sign on the picture, so stop putting everyone down in here. I mean I like to think they ARE authentic OKAY!

Why don't you just post a few of the autographs in the "Is My Autograph Authentic?" forum. I mean, it's worth a shot. You're bound to have a few authentics!

I tried to upload a picture today, but it didn't work. I don't really participate much in this site, so maybe I can't upload a picture yet. I just think I should just throw most of my pictures in the trash or just give them to somebody. Today I got a response from Joyce Randolph of the Honeymooners and she was nice enough to write a note in the back of the letter I sent her. Not to mention she signed the picture I sent, which was the entire cast of the Honeymooners. Robert Downey Jr. I am pretty sure is authentic because he put a peace sign on it and the year 07.' That's the year I got the picture, but anyway....maybe I should rip up most of the photos I've got and just start from scratch.

You can use a free image hosting service to post your pictures to the forum like imageshack.. it gives you the link and everything you need - very easy to use.
I would throw some up here for us to look at and we can tell you if they are authentic or not. Before you throw them away you can always sell them too - someone is bound to buy them.
Best,
Mike

I will try to do image shack, but I just feel like I am writing letters for nothing and it makes me angry
