Probably got opened because person didn't know who the sender was. A 'not signing' letter would have been nice, but be thankful you got back your stuff, rather than not getting it back at all.

The only way you can be sure a signature is real is to witness it yourself. Authentication companies are not in fallible. Know and trust the signature, not a piece of paper.
