I think that within in the UK you should always use 2nd class only. I read in the paper recently that 1st class post doesn't actually get to the destination any quicker any more!

no. SAE is stamped addressed envelope. We don't use SASE generally in Britain, but I think British people on this site have started using it as most people on this site are from America and Australia , so that we all understand each other.
