Re: Are there any autograph signings or shows in florida??
There are several science fiction/comic conventions in Florida that are great for autographs. MegaCon is the biggest, held in the spring, always gets big scifi names. Next year (so far) is William Shatner, Stan Lee. http://www.megaconvention.com/ FX International moved to the fall this year and they...

Re: When are preprints not preprints?
It wasn't an autopen, I'll see if I can find the video clip. He signed on a graphics tablet -- like a Wacom -- to a person, then hit print. A personalized preprint. From a personal standpoint, receiving this from a celebrity would mean more to me than a standard PP, but less than a hand-signed photo...

When are preprints not preprints?
I saw a video recently of Mike Rowe from "Dirty Jobs" in a hotel room talking about the show. At one point he was signing (and personalizing) autographs by writing directly on a computer tablet with a stylus and then printing out the results. Would this be considered a PP, since he did sig...

Re: Where do you keep your autograph/fan pack succsesses??
Authentic autographs I scan and upload to Flickr, then I frame and hang the originals.
Preprints I keep in a binder, with a few exceptions for actors/writers I like, and those go up as well as "wall art."

Cardboard inserts - use? Don't use? Doesn't matter?
When you send photos, do you stick anything inside the envelope to keep it flat? I've been including the cards you get in comic bags, but didn't know if there was a cheaper source for them (and they might even make it worse if the pic is bigger than they are). Or, more to the point, have you noticed...

Does anyone use software to keep track of your collection?
Besides Excel, or Access, I mean. Is there a program ready made to help you keep track of what's been sent, what's been returned, what's still pending, etc? After years of getting the occasional autograph at conventions I'm starting to collect in earnest, and my Excel skills are minimal. Is there an...

Re: Copywrited Question
Ooh, good point, I wasn't thinking of professional printers. I print my stuff out on my own printer. Yeah, many of them have specific policies but those may also vary depending on who's working the desk that night. They generally won't copy anything clearly marked as copyrighted (or with a photograp...
