I would say that an A5 envelope containing up to three photos and one sheet of ordinary card, would be fine with one normal stamp!

If the envelope is any bigger/has more than three photos, you would have to use a large stamp!

Yep, they are fine to use! The info on the back is the last posting dates for the mail to arrive in time for Christmas. UK stamps do not have an expiry date ever. Hey, I'm pretty sure they are like UK's first and second class stamps, where they can be used even when the prices go up. Unlike value stamps, such as 42p etc, because if the price went up to 43p you would be 1p under. Hence the name "forever", they can be used forever, when prices go up ;...
