I save images from Google (making sure they're large for best quality) then I print them using a website called Truprint - for new members, you get 20 free prints and only have to pay like £2 postage so I make a new account each time I order

Not trying to plug any particular website or anything, but I get all of my photos from allposters.com. They're pretty reasonably priced and you don't have to worry about copyright or anything. If the person I'm looking for isn't on there, I usually will look on Amazon also.

I print them myself. My dad has a good printer- it prints 600 dpi (twice the dots per inch my printer has). I use expensive, HP Photo Paper. I think they look amazing- I'm blown away by the quality. As others mentioned, if you go DIY, always use the largest files. Walmart 1-hour gave me the third degree as well... But they did sell to me a few times, and I found their quality to be poor (offcentered, printer marks [can see lines going thru pics], printing on wrong size, etc.). Another thing- Walmart 1-hour only prints on matte paper. I discovered over time sharpie signatures bleed into the paper. Not sure what your interests are, but Wikimedia Commons and NASA.gov are good sites for finding hi-resolution images. Also you can narrow your google searches to large images only.

I think it only costs me something like 60p per print...the more you print though the cheaper it is.

One last question about this. Do you type in the GOOGLE search for "large file" or do you just look at the size? What size is a good quality picture sizes?
