I personally think the biggest thing this site needs is to not allow any selling of autographs or links to sites where people are selling autographs. I know some people just sell the odd autograph here and there but i see lots of people selling alot of autographs and who is to say they arent just dealers posing as a fan who needs to sell their collection and others are right out just selling and putting links to their sites. I know some people are going to say well its a way for some people who are willing to pay to get autographs but this is suppose to be a site for discussing autographs and collecting and for getting addresses for the fun of autograph collecting and not for sleazy sellers to peddle their goods to a captive audience. Or at the very least limit the amount people can sell and delete the obvious dealers!!!

1. What's the point in deleting old accounts, regardless of how long it's been inactive, etc? It's not like they're doing any harm.

2. Celebautos.com just leads to a holding page, there's no site there. Either way, the whole "guest lockout" thing is just incredibly, incredibly stupid for a public forum.

4. Sure, I can agree with that.
2) Oh sorry. here it is http://celebautos.co.uk/index

Blocking out certain parts of the forum for people that have less then a certain amount of posts is a good idea. For example it would work in the sale/trade section, since the rules are that you need 100 posts to be able to sell or trade, it would make it easier if it was just invisible for anyone with less then a 100 posts. But I doubt that would ever be implemented here.
Topics usually get locked because someone bumps up an old topic (old as in 6 months+) There's no reason to delete the topic because the information might still be interesting to read, but maybe not relevant/current anymore.

dfreely wrote:#1 and #4 is pretty pointless. There's no reason to delete members just because they don't have enough posts (to whatever standard that may be), and there's no reason to delete locked posts because there could still be useful information there.

#2 I absolutely hate. No real forum would do this.

#3 I agree with. This forum needs new moderators, and the ones that haven't been around and/or aren't doing work should be demoted back to being regular members. Leaving them with moderator privileges is a security risk.
1) I mean like deleting members who havent logged on in like 1 or 2 years and only have 0-10 posts. And i never said delete them if they dont have enough posts i said we should delete them because they havent came on in 1-2 years AND like if they only have 0-10 posts because they use it just to get VV address, etc.

2) if you go on http://www.celebautos.co.uk and look at how a member would have to have a certain amount of points.

4) I mean deleting topics that are called delete and lock and have no info.

Deleting members who don't come on anymore
-Some people do come for addresses, and see other members successes.
deleting members would not affect anything .

2) Making the forums private to non-members aka guests
We do want people to join, what fourms are you talking about?
i noticed that on other sites you have to make a certain # of post before you access a certain fourm, i dont get that
i dont see why cetain forum/ topics should be private for any reason.

3) New TM, Mods., etc. and getting rid of TM and Mods. who don't come on anymore
Yea i can see where your going with that. most of the mods are active just dont make alot of posts/comment.
the mods still lock topics..move topics..remove spam. ect. they do a good job. im sure a few mods are not active anymore,
and if mods dont do thier job in a certain amount of time they should be removed.

4) Deleting locked topics
Well, i like looking at some of the past feedback. Lets say you want to look at the signing habbits of Donald trump, you could look through all of the old feedback ,and you can see how long it usually takes and useful infomation like that. I do agree if the topic is locked and its not useful, it should be deleted.

I don't understand why deleting inactive members would be necessary. It’s meaningless and a massive amount of work. How would deleting inactive members improve this forum? This same reason goes for deleting inactive TM's and Mod's. Although deleting TM and Mod accounts is more realistic than deleting regular member accounts, I still don’t see the point… We are actually currently voting on the possibility of a new TM. Many locked topics can be incredibly useful. I use them here and there for addresses and other information.
