Yes their is a difference! A regular stamp is worth .42 cents. The forever stamps are .42 cents as well, BUT if the price for a stamp ever goes up again (And I pray that it won't!), you can still use one forever stamp instead of adding an extra .1 cent or .2 cent stamp to a regular stamp. I only use the Forever stamps just in case the price of stamps goes up again the celeb can still mail it without having to pay more for postage.
