Don't judge all on looks..otherwise you're going to mess up your back or something else.
Get ones with good support and cushioning. Light ones aren't always best, especially if you're training, you want heavy ones.
It's a lot of help if you go to a local running store. They know their stuff and they'll get you the right shoes.
