Every pic I send to have signed is an 8x10.
I also write my name on back in black Sharpie, lest it gets mixed up with someone else's letter, -or- the celeb tries to keep it, sign it, and sell it rather than buy their own.
Somewhere out there, someone probably has received a signed pic that wasn't theirs with my name on the back and wondered what was going on.

Yeah, I sent a 007 photo too and I received back unsigned :/

Yeah, he sent me a signed photo of his own, but different from the one you got.

I sent him a 007 picture to sign, but like the rest of us, it just got sent back unsigned.
