Nothing happens to the covers so why would it be different with marker on it? I have some from 2001 that I put back in the case and they look fine. As with anything if u leave the movies out in direct sunlight the "spine" of the movie can fade but that it.

thats an interesting aspect. somebody got experiences with that? Would like to know what happens with the signature when it's 5 or 10 years in a dvd-case...
My signed Trilogy of Terror VHS is a clamshell package; the plastic is very much like what we have nowadays with DVDs, where there is a plastic wraparound shielding the removable cover. The cover insert was signed about 10 years ago and the signature still looks pristine:

I put all of my loose DVD's in a big folder like case that holds 300 movies with sleeves . So I just have the cases lying around and started sending them out to be signed.
