I'd love to know why you call this a failure when you received an autograph... this site is about autographs, so I'd call that a success! whatever else you send is irrelevant to this website - nobody cares. after all, we're all here to find addresses that works to obtain autographs - nothing more.

I sent a christmas card for Rod, plus extra one, letter and SAE on: 16th December 2013, and on Saturday I recieved my extra card back unsigned, plus included was a signed photo. Still really happy though. :D
