Thanks so much for all your advice! I actually own a laminating machine myself, which helped me laminating some family pictures and stuff, works quite well :D . I really detest these markers, had exactly the same problems with Rosamund Pike once, had to resend her :D. I think I will do the same with Mr. Carter!

Had this happen too. When you print your own photos, the ink doesn't allow the silver marker to adhere so it begins to flake off like a dry erase marker.

I ended up just taking some clear coat spray paint and spraying the photo down to protect it then put them in plastic sleeves. So far so good. Laminating is not a bad idea either. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me with another celebrity......

I just received photos yesterday and signature was flaky/smudgy. I took both of them over to Staples and talked with a clerk there. Told them to try and laminate one to see how it turned out. Clerk was apprehensive about doing it....said there would probably be air bubbles. Told him to try anyways. He said there was a larger machine that he could use that would turn out better. He ended up laminating both of them and they turned out fantastic. Cost me $2 to laminate both. Well worth the cost.

If you try it, have them do one first and see what the result is. Mine turned out great, and I'm glad I did it!!

Jimmy Carter Success - Signature smudgy, help!

Received: End of August

Today, I received the two pictures I sent to Jimmy Carter back signed in my SASE from the address in database. Unfortunately, he signed the pictures with a silver marker, which is a bit smudgy. The signature didn't get dry or didn't soak into the photo paper, unfortunately! How can I stop that? Is it adviseable to laminate the pictures? Or is there a possibility of drying the signatures somehow? I really need your advice!

i cannot scan the pictures, sorry, because then everything would be totally ruined!
